Fire Escape Plan Size Options

1️⃣ A4 Size (210mm × 297mm) — Minimum

• Smallest commonly accepted size

• Suitable when:

  • Diagram remains readable from normal viewing distance

• Often used for door-mounted plans or compact areas

2️⃣ A3 Size (297mm × 420mm) — Recommended Standard

• Most widely preferred globally

• Offers better clarity and more room for mandatory safety details

• Ideal for:

  • Offices, schools, apartments, hotels

  • Medium-size commercial facilities

• Allows placement of “You Are Here” points, exits, fire equipment, legends, assembly points, and site details

3️⃣ A2 or Larger (420mm × 594mm+) — For Complex Sites

• Recommended for larger or complex facilities

• Best suited for:

  • Shopping malls, hospitals, airports

  • Large educational campuses, multi-building sites
